Can you feel the darkness in my embrace?

The void clasping for a hand?

The need to feel your life beat against my nothing,

to feel the reflection of breath fog my bedroom mirror.

Your arms release,

yet you do not let go.

Expectations

At a table of titans, his feet swung free.

A Thief and a Book

I steal time,

I cut it gently from my night,

steady hands,

sharp knife,

I sneak beneath the covers of comforting darkness,

clutching my own sun I travel,

walking worlds gone,

and worlds coming,

I stride them in stolen seconds,

then my sands grow slim,

and my night fades.

The Smoke

I feel my life aflame,

the smokey kisses rising on the wind.

I crawl around in buckets,

to hope that there is hope.

I live in anticipation of precipitation.
