Flats

Yellow glows on fading purple,

crossed by half-seen shadows,

echoing to one hundred dinner scents

and fresh with fifty tales of today.


72 has overdone the garlic,

but the guests don't mind.

32A thinks this date is going well,

..he hopes.


At 14 Dad made it home for stories,

they'll remember that.

Dirty fingers mark pages,

it never mattered less.


Alfred Tower is happy,
