Senior Beer
My round or yours?
I’m happy to but you’re three zeros up.
What will you have?
Preferably something younger than I am,
or water.
Don’t want to overcook the night.
Are you in that meeting tomorrow?
Ah,
it’s with you.
Forgive me, I’ll just refill this pint from a vein.
So how’s the kids, the wife?
Unmarried.
I’m sure I knew that.
Maybe sometime soon?
Let's switch rope before I totter.
I’m sweating again.
Oh you see someone you know?
For the best,
my flapping was taking me airborne.
Always a pleasure,
I’ll be human next time.
The Last In The Box
Who told you it wouldn’t last?
That summer days went cold,
that friends moved on.
A memory never ends,
it just makes way for the next,
and waits again for your visit.
Each sunset forecasts another sunrise,
We should merely toast each as they come.
Screen
I wandered in a cinema,
enamored in colour,
drunk on silver myths.
Chasing a high in crowded rooms,
another addict burning late nights,
ignoring full days.
Catching the tale of a dragon,
the call of the void,
meeting a thousand old flames,
and a million new friends.
Watching endless lives more forgiving than my own.
